LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: People encounter various types of viral content on social media that are very happening and mood refreshing; but not every content we watch provides the same dose of dopamine boost. Few videos on TikTok, Twitter and YouTube serve very gruesome and gory content, including a clip that goes by the name "Video 1444" that recently went viral.

In 2019, the very gory video went viral across social media platforms, as the footage flagged trigger warnings in most apps as netizens shared their experiences of feeling 'anxious' and 'regretted' watching the clip.

What is the 'Video 1444'?

The YouTube video by the name of 'Video 1444' has become well-known due to an alleged "curse" story. According to Heavy, the video first appeared on YouTube and showed Russian YouTuber Gleb Korablyov shooting himself dead while lying on a couch on October 17, 2019.

In the video, Galeb instructed someone to hold off telling his parents about his suicide before starting to shoot himself in the head. Korablyov made a reference to a Russian suicide-related meme by yelling "Nya, poka!" ("Nyan, bye!") just before he took his own life, as reported by The Sports Grail. The 17-second clip soon went viral on the platform, but was removed right away.

The clip has previously been shared on websites and online communities that host gory images and videos. The video began to gain popularity on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Google over the weekend of October 19 and 20, 2019. The video gained new traction after being mentioned on TikTok on December 9, 2019. TikTok users were looking for it even though it doesn't appear to have been posted there, as per reports.

The video was widely circulated on social media, as many netizens asked other people not to look for the video and shared their horrific experience after watching it. As one of the Twitter users wrote, "tw || suicide PLEASE DON'T SEARCH "1444" ANYWHERE. JUST DON'T. PLEASE. IT'S A BOY HURTING HIMSELF AND IT GAVE ME ANXIETY BECAUSE I'M DUMB AND I THOUGHT "oh i'm sure people are exaggerating" PLEASE DON'T WATCH IT"

Another Twitter user wrote, "TW// suicide,death OOMFS PLEASE don’t go and look for the 1444 video. i was curious, and i looked for it, and i watched it and i REGRET it. So PLEASE if see you the video don't watch it! ily all be safe!!"

A third user wrote, "TW/Suicide, 1444 Okay I know this has been talked about extensively but please, please PLEASE don't look for 1444 video. I made the mistake of looking for it out of the "oh, it cant be that bad" mentality and holy f*ck it was bad. If you see this painting, stop watching."

Another Twitter user asked people to not search for the video and wrote, "Tw// suicide, gun please whatever you do, do not search up the number 1444 here or on youtube, its a very graphic video of someone committing suicide, so please try to stay away from it."
