If you've heard me talk about Josh, it's often as my business partner... not just my cofounder. Anything that revolves around business, whether Slate related or not, we discuss and take on together. Because one of the things that makes a great businessperson is their ability to determine value - what you get for what you give. Just because something's cheap, doesn't mean you should jump on it. Or just because something is expensive, doesn't mean it will be extremely impactful/meaningful. Even though we never really talked about it, I think one of the first things that made Josh and me realize we were going to be co-founders was the fact that we both REALLY wanted to create something great. There are probably dozens of reasons why (including the fact we just wanted a healthier chocolate milk)... but we both were, and still are, willing to dedicate our lives to building something. When we met Maxx, we realized what dedicating your life to something really means. I've never seen someone have a desire to be the best at what they do more than this guy... so much so that he literally got tattoos of the athletes he hopes to one day be in the same class of. And based on what we've learned about his work ethic and mindset, paired with his humility and hunger, we wouldn't doubt him for a second.Fired up to welcome the newest Slate Investor and Athlete, Maxx Crosby, to the team!! My go-to drink at coffee shops when I’m feeling “naughty” has always been iced coffee, caramel swirl, with almond or oat milk (because they never have lactose free milk). I started getting it in college and never looked back. Well, we at Slate Milk now have a non-naughty, high protein version of this bad boy… and it’s very, very tasty.
